What You’ll Learn

How the Hermes Chart Grid works, which panel types are available, how saved dashboards behave, and how to configure each tile without disturbing the rest of your workspace.

What The Chart Grid Is

The Chart Grid is the main Hermes dashboard. It is a tiled workspace where each panel can be a different chart or market-structure view. A typical dashboard might include:
  • a Symbol Chart for SPX or SPY price
  • Quote Flow for live SPY or QQQ NBBO quote clustering
  • GEX Combined or GEX Ladder for dealer positioning context
  • Chain Charts for nearby SPX or SPY contracts
  • Market Events and Session Pulse in the right rail
Each panel has its own chart-type dropdown and settings. Two panels can show the same tool with different settings, or completely different tools side by side.

Saved Dashboards

Use the dashboard selector in the top bar to manage chart workspaces. You can:
  • switch between saved dashboards
  • create a new dashboard
  • rename a dashboard
  • duplicate a dashboard
  • delete a dashboard when more than one exists
New users start with bootstrap dashboards such as Market + Quote Flow, Options Flow, and SPX Chain Charts. Dashboard names and layouts persist with the chart workspace so you can keep separate screens for live reading, options review, and GEX-heavy work.

Choose A Layout

Open the layout picker from the dashboard toolbar to switch between presets. Layouts are organized by panel count, from 1 to 16 panels. The main shapes are: Picking a higher panel count is how you add visible panels. Picking a lower panel count hides the extra panels from the active layout, but Hermes keeps the underlying panel configuration so it can return when you choose a larger layout again.

Panel Catalog

Open a panel’s chart-type dropdown to choose what that tile shows.

Quick Symbols

Symbol panels are live candlestick charts for common tickers:
  • SPX, SPY, VIX, NDX, DJI, RUT
  • ES1! when futures-data access is enabled for the user
Symbol charts can show overlays such as VWAP, weekly VWAP, moving averages, dynamic trend, expected move, prior-day levels, opening range, current-day levels, prior-week/month levels, overnight levels, and momentum indicators.

Options

The options group includes: Chain panels can be configured per panel, so one dashboard can show SPX calls while another panel shows SPY puts or a different expiry.

Quote Flow

The Quote Flow group includes: The core Quote Flow bubble view is quote-derived: it uses cumulative 1-second NBBO bid/ask quoted size.

GEX

The GEX group includes: GEX settings include OTM-only filtering, complex-trade exclusion, side filters, date selection, and chart-specific pane controls.

Market

The market group includes: Market Events and Session Pulse live in the right rail. Open Interest can be opened as its own page or used as an Options panel inside the chart grid.

Screener

The screener group includes: Click a screener row to send that symbol into an adjacent chart panel. See the Stock Screener guide for the universe presets and columns.

Per-Panel Settings

Each chart type exposes only the settings that matter for that panel. Examples:
  • Symbol Chart: overlays, session levels, VWAP, moving averages, dynamic trend, expected move, and indicator labels
  • Options panels: underlying, contract date, calls/puts/both, contract count, chart width, pin-to-live-ATM, and option-chart overlays
  • GEX panels: date, selected sides, OTM-only, complex-trade exclusion, exposure mode, strike range, and pane visibility
  • SPY Aggression panels: whether to include near-side and tick-based classifications
  • Quote Flow: switch independently between SPY and QQQ
Changing one panel does not rewrite the others.

Resizing

Drag the dividers between panels to resize.
  • Vertical dividers adjust neighboring columns.
  • Horizontal dividers adjust neighboring rows.
  • Resize behavior respects minimum panel sizes so a chart does not collapse into an unusable sliver.
  • The 6-two-top layout also tracks separate top-row and bottom-row column widths.
Your divider positions are stored with the layout.

Crosshair Sync

Hermes synchronizes crosshairs across compatible chart panes. When one TradingView-style chart is the active driver, matching charts can move their crosshair to the same timestamp. This is most useful when comparing:
  • price and an option contract at the same moment
  • multiple nearby option strikes
  • a symbol chart against Quote Flow timing
Some D3-rendered GEX and flow charts have their own local crosshair behavior. Use them for local inspection of a point, interval, or strike.

Practical Dashboard Patterns

1

Build a live read

Use Market + Quote Flow as a starting point, then add GEX Combined or Market Overview when you need more context.
2

Build an options read

Use SPX Chain Charts or Chain Table beside a Symbol Chart and one Option Contract panel.
3

Build a GEX read

Use GEX Combined, GEX Ladder, GEX Interval, Net Drift, and Net Flow in a 2x3 or 3x2 layout.
4

Keep context nearby

Use the right rail for Session Pulse and Market Events so written context and fresh event prompts stay close to the chart grid.
