What You’ll Learn

How to use the Market Events panel, what the event metadata means, and how to separate useful market context from noise.

What Market Events Shows

Market Events is the right-rail feed for current headlines and significant market updates. It loads recent events, subscribes to live updates when the connection is available, and marks new entries so they are easy to spot while you are working in the chart workspace. Each event card can include:
  • event title and description
  • published time and relative age
  • importance level
  • sentiment label
  • source link when available
  • a Significant Event badge for higher-priority chart-linked events
The panel is designed to answer: what external context just changed while I was looking at the market?

Reading Event Cards

Clicking an event opens the source URL when one is attached.
If real-time updates are temporarily unavailable, Hermes keeps showing the latest snapshot and displays a connection notice instead of hiding the panel.

How To Use It

Use Market Events as a context check when price, volatility, or Quote Flow changes suddenly. Good questions to ask:
  • Did a headline explain the move I just saw?
  • Is the event important enough to change session context, or is it background noise?
  • Does the headline agree with what VIX, breadth, and price are doing?
  • Did Session Pulse already call out this risk, or is this a fresh change?

Best Pairings

  • Symbol Chart: confirm whether price reacted to the headline.
  • Market Overview: check whether SPX and VIX are responding together.
  • Market Breadth: see whether the headline is broad-market or sector-specific.
  • Session Pulse: compare fresh events to the current session narrative.
Market Events is context, not instruction. A headline can explain a move after it starts, but the chart still needs to confirm whether the move is continuing, reversing, or fading.
